Research

These links are all relevant research, one of them is about home intrusion, another is about emotional blackmail which is very in depth and the last is a similar film with a similar storyline to ours - I know what you did last summer - The research here was found by one of out classmates Rory Mosedale.

Diary Entry 30th April

Diary entry for 30th April 2014

Its a few days into the Single Cam Drama project and Dee and I have done the proposal and have written out whats going to happen in each minute out of the ten minutes, these were both quite tricky to do but they are done, there will probably be some small changes to these two pieces of pre production in the process of this project.

Today we learnt how to use After Effects and got play around with it for a bit but i don't think that me and Deanna will be using after effects in our drama production, we might use it for transitions when switching shots to add more tension and drama to the production, I am going to try and add more to the proposal and work out the budget today, I am also going to do some relevant research, including other dramas and ones with a similar storyline.

Deanna and I will both be sorting out a Production schedule today and starting on the shot lists, I also think that I will use After Effects for title sequence but we will not be using it for special effects for car explosions or anything like that.

The script is in working progress and needs a lot more adding to it, but we are not worrying about it at the moment. Me and Dee both have good ideas which will be put together to make our Drama Production even better.

Girls Enter, Protagonist falls on her knees with (blood) on her hands crawling to the drippy tap in the kitchen. Protagonist washes her hand (OHS) along side her, best friend is tearful and shocked. Best friend goes to lock the door but the protagonist is certain the door is already locked, so there is no need.

2.First Appearance      EST:
Front door BANG, BANG(LS from the kitchen facing the door visual of the hall way). Girls do not wish to answer the door late at night so they walk to the living room window looking outside. Black figure acknowledges them but the girls pull the curtains across. They go up stairs closing the door behind them -- from door (20-30 seconds)Costume change in to pyjamas.

3. I KNOW WHAT YOU DID!    EST:
A loud knock on the door begins (letter box open+Closes)(CU)  A note falls through the letter box but the Protagonist is upstairs unaware. She goes into the room next door looking out of the window, the figure starts to walk of in the other directions but protagonist mistakes in seeing something else(CAM) then looses sight of him. Protagonist tries to relax as she's confused and generally a bit scared and cautious about the stranger.

4. Lock Down!       EST:
Protagonist goes down stairs to have a look around for a piece of mind, then comes across a note and from that moment she realises she is completely worried. Protagonist rushes to all the windows and doors, full necessary lock down. Only the door she is most certain was locked, wasn't. As she goes to switch the back garden light of from the living room. What she doesn't know she had alarmed the stranger who went to behind the house, and reassured him it was definitely that house. Protagonist then puts the kettle on and slowly sits down on the sofa. --LS (Out back) -- Kettle -- Sofa of protagonist wrapped up lying down.

5. You Missed a Door!       EST:
-- Back garden (diagetic wind and build up of non-diagetic music) Camera tracking Infront of the stranger following up the decking to the back door (which leads into the kitchen) -- handle from the inside gradually gets pushed down and as it opens cuts to -- Sofa, not long after she hears a noise which alarms her, she gets up and exits the living room double doors (darkish) as she turns left facing the kitchen door (lights are off) her intensions were to look upstairs. Protagonist slowly walks down the hall way but as she turned a face/eyes appear in the one of the square door glass of the kitchen door. With out notice she goes upstairs.

Diary Entry 23rd April - New Project

This is my diary entry for the project that we are doing at the moment, a single camera drama production, at the moment I am thinking about different genres and ideas, I want to do a thriller and so does Deanna Ricketts and we both have the same ideas and might work together.

I spoke to Joe and Deanna today and we discussed different ideas, and Joe decided he was going to work on his own, and Dee and I decided we are going to work together, I am not worried about working with Dee as I know she is hardworking and is really looking forward to this new project, I am a little worried about different ideas, if I don't like something dee does then we are going to have to compromise and same with me liking an idea dee doesn't.

The idea that Dee and I have is a thriller and two girls have come through the door from a night out with blood on their hands and they are confused as to what they have done, even though they don't know, someone else does and they are blackmailing the girls, a letter will come through their door saying 'I know what you've done' this is going to be most of the story, its going to be a mystery and they do not find out until the end.

I want the audience to feel constantly on edge and asking questions, this is the whole point of my story.

What happened?
What did they do?
Where has the blood come from?
Where did they do it?
Who did they do it too?
Who's blood id it?
Who is blackmailing them?
Why did they do it?
Why don't they remember?
How did they do it?

These are the questions that everyone will be asking and they will not be answered until the very end of the production. This is what gives the story a twist! Its a mystery!
